Dr Andrew Jackson
FRACGP, MBBS, BBioMedSci, BSci (Hon)
I have been the local GP here in Agnes Water since 2016. After graduating from med school in 2010, I initially pursued a career in obstetrics before finding my true calling in general practice. Now, with a strong background in rural medicine, I’ve a deep understanding of the unique needs of small-town community members. I have special interests in skin cancer medicine and palliative care - two areas often under-served in rural regions. As a happily married father of seven children, I value connection and compassion in all areas of life.
I firmly believe that healthcare should be a partnership.
My approach goes beyond traditional consultations, which means that I take the time to listen, educate, and collaborate with you. By empowering you to make informed decisions about your health,
I ensure care is always aligned with your beliefs, expectations, and wishes.
I believe in treating the whole person, recognizing that our mental and physical health are deeply interconnected, and that mindset plays a crucial role in overall well-being.
Healthcare, to me, is about more than just diagnosing conditions.
It’s about fostering relationships built on trust, understanding, and collaboration.
I view my role as a coach and advisor,
empowering my patients to make informed decisions
that align with their personal values and goals.
Listening, communicating effectively, and tailoring care
to each individual are at the heart of what I do.
Whether you’re navigating a health challenge or looking to optimise your well-being,
I am here to support you at every stage of your journey.
